Tried: Glasgow, 25 Sep 1826, Transportation – 7 years; Per Princess Charlotte, 27 March 1827, New South Wales. -------------------------------------------------------------- Circuit Court of Justiciary, Glasgow.  Mary Lamond, alias Lamonte, was indicted for breaking into the house of William Smith, farmer at Hartston, near Paisley, and forcing open a lockfast chest, and abstracting divers articles of wearing apparel, together with 35s. in silver  and of being habit and repute a common thief, pleaded Guilty, and was sentenced to 7 years transportation.   Caledonian Mercury, 2 Oct 1826.
