John was one of 106 convicts transported on the Albermarle, arriving at Sydney Cove, October 13th 1791. Quite soon after this he formed a relationship with Esther Stroud (Convict, Sugar Cane, 1793). They had a son, John born 1794. Clearly they had other children too, possible a daughter mentioned in the 1814 muster and also a James, mentioned in the 1825 Census.
