The Court was then ocupied durlng several hours with the trial of John M'Allister, for theft, when, after a full investigation into the circumstances of the case, by the evidence of the witnesses adduced in support of the ?? Oliphant having addressed the Jury in ?? prisoner they found a verdict of Guilty, and he was sentenced to seven years transportation. Caledonian Mercury, 28 Sep 1816.
