1836 - CERTIFICATE OF FREEDOM. No; 36/203 Age 31 . Born abt 1805 Date; 9 April 1836 Native Place Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland Trade; Biscuit Maker




County of Antrim Assizes. Ann Mulholland alias Friar, Hugh McDonald, and Mary Kelly, were indicted for stealing cotton goods the property of Mr. Maxwell Lepper, Belfast. Maxwell Lepper, jun. in the employment of his father, who is a muslin manufacturer 1st August last, the three prisoners came into his father's warehouse, and asked to see some goods- they said the goods were too dear, and the women went out of the office door- the man remained behind for a short time, and also went out - witness suspected they had stolen something, and pursued them-they separated, and witness caught Ann Mulholland, and brought her back into the hall - he found 10 pieces of goods on her, which he was sure were in the warehouse before prisoners came in - Guilty; seven years transportation.
