Isabella McKay (McCullock) was convicted at Glasgow 25 April 1852 for theft. Previous convictions. 10 yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Duchess of Northumberland arriving 1853. Ship's Report: very good, industrious. Aged 26yrs; married, 1 child; 5'1"; laundress; Protestant; can read & write. Native Place: Argyleshire, Scotland. Husband: Alexander Father: David or Daniel Mother: Ellen Sisters: Flora & Margaret Brothers: John, James, Duncan, David. Assignment of work services. Ticket of Leave 29 Aug 1854 Conditional Pardon 26 Feb 1856 Application for Permission to Marry: 13 Feb 1855 - to James COPE. Approved subject to Clergy being satisfied. (Does not appear to have proceeded.) Application for Permission to Marry: 4 Dec 1855 - to George FROST. Married to George FROST at Hobart. (Ref. 37/1/14 no. 385) Children: female child FROST born at Campbell Town, Tas. 15 Jan 1856. female child FROST born at Campbell Town, Tas. 4 Aug 1860. Isabella FROST died at Campbell Town 15 Oct 1862. Husband - George Frost. Inquest states cause of death was of natural causes. (n.b. there was also a Bell FROST (husband Edward Frost) also living in this district.)
