Joseph Mellors was 29 years old and came from Yorkshire. His occupation was a "Soldier/Collier". Joseph was 5'9" tall, dark sallow complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, large scar across nose, tattoos. 4/10/1837: Absconded from AA Company since 28th Sept., Newcastle. 18/10/1837: On list of runaways apprehended. 27/10/1837: AA Company - Charged with absenting himself. Stated he had bad feet and could not work - 50 lashes. 3/11/1837:Assigned to the AA Company, Newcastle. 10/4/1838: Absconded from the AA Company. 18/4/1838: Apprehended. No other records found.
