Of Van Diemen's Land. 1820 Jul 5 Pardon could not be made for him as he did not appear in indents for the "Providence" (Reel 6007; 4/3502 p.113) -------------------------------------------------- To Lieut. Governor Sorell. I am sorry to remark that the name of Osborne does not appear in the Indents for the ship Providence as mentioned in the Original list, whereby I am not enabled to make the Pardon for him. Secretary’s Office, Sydney. -------------------------------------------------- It is very probable that this person is already listed on the database, possibly as Mathew Byrnes, who was tried at Tipperary and sentenced to 14 years. Mathew Byrnes was the only convict on the Indent, who was sentenced to 14 years at Tipperary. He appears to have used the name Michael Osborne, although there was no such entry on the Providence indent.
