Occupation: Horse breaker. 12/11/1832: Maitland - Permission to marry Sophia Scaddon - aged 18, born in Colony. James was 27 and on bond. 1832: Married in the Church of England, Maitland district. They had 8 or 9 children. 1891: James Moy died at West Maitland, NSW. 1854: Sophia died at West Maitland, NSW.




Convict: James Moy. Aged 21, single. Trial: Essex, probably Chelmsford. Crime: horse stealing. Convicted: 18/7/1825, no former convictions. Life sentence transported to Australia: Vol. 397, Muster & Papers Vol. 2427/3209. Description: 5'3", dark, shallow complexion, no marks, brown hair, hazel eyes, health good.
