Source: Ireland- Australia Transportation Database. Petition. No PPC 3084 Petitioner, Patrick Murphy, convict, tried Naas, Co. Kildare, for sheep stealing, transportation 7 years. imprisonment place, Hulk in Dublin. Convict was convicted with his wife for the same crime. Petitioning for permission to be sent with his wife and to live together when they arrive in Australia, wife is detained in Naas, gaol. States he served 8 years in the army, Petition received 8 May 1827.

ADM 101/24/31827-1828 Medical and surgical journal of the Elizabeth convict Ship, for 6 July 1827 to 26 January 1828 by Joseph H Hughes, Surgeon, during which time the said Elizabeth was employed in transporting female convicts from Ireland to Sydney, New South Wales. Folio 19: Ann Murphy, Convict; sick or hurt, Debilitas; put on sick list, 16 October 1827; no discharge date, continues. Folio 17: 1 January 1828, the ship arrived off the coast of New South Wales, the weather remarkably fine and warm, all the sick convalescing. Ann Murphy, the case of general debility is improving, the Surgeon is surprised she has survived the voyage. Folio 20: Ann Murphy, Convict; sick or hurt, Debilitas atatis; put on sick list, 17 January 1828; discharged 17 January 1828 to a colonial hospital.
