Murphy, 31st Regt, Tried at Malta, 24 Mar 1809, Proceedings laid before the King, 14 June 1809, Desertion from the Quarters of his Regt in Malta, Sentence, Transported as a Felon beyond the seas for 10 years & to be marked with the letter D. HM approved of the transportation but not to the marking, because there was no proof of his having before deserted.
