On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. Sarah NINES was convicted at Exeter, Devon for receiving stolen property. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Mary' arriving 19 Oct 1831. Married woman, 4 children. Aged 27yrs. Native place of birth: Island of Guernsey VDL: Assigned to work services. Some notes of misconduct. Some time spent at the Female House of Correction, Hobart. 1835: Application for permission to marry - to William MORRIS. 7 March 1836: Application for permission to marry - to George HAMBLETON. 2 May 1836: Marriage - to George Hambleton.
