John was born in Cerne Abbas in 1825. Parents Henry and Elizabeth Peatey or Peaty. He married Edith Peaty 27 April 1845. His eldest brother Henry Peaty travelled to Australia as a free settler with his wife Sarah Knell and children. His eldest child Charles Peaty and his wife Martha Biles also travelled separately to Australia, of whom I am a descendant. John Peaty is my 3rd Great Grand Uncle.
