Return of Persons convicted under the Provisions of 31 Vict. No. 12, during the Week ending 28 January 1871. Richard Pepperd, per Canton, F.S., Offence Larceny, sentence 1 month, Native place-Ireland, Trade Carpenter, age 47yrs, 5 feet 10 inches high, from Campbelltown and Ross. Tasmania Police Gazette, 3rd Feb 1871, p20. An inquest was held at the Hospital, Campbell Town, on 19th instant, on the body of Richard Peppard, F.S., per Canton, Verdict--Died from natural causes. Tasmania Police Gazette, 23rd Aug 1872, p139.
