In the trial he was described as having done groundwork with the person whose coat he stole.

Joseph Perkins was 35 years old when indicted for stealing a coat, value £2, 1 bag, value 1s., and 1 handkerchief, value 2d., the goods of George Whitworth. He had also been convicted of a felony in October 1827. 1836: TOL Parramatta 15/1/1839: COF
