Mary Ann Peters was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 28th Mar 1840 and arriving 13th Jul 1840 with 214 passengers.
Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

Was a shoe binder and housemaid. Guilty of uttering base coin (forgery). Tried 5/10/1839 one previous conviction of 2 years. 5' 4" sallow and freckled complexion, brown hair and grey eyes. William Peters - prisoner out 11 years There is a William Peters from Bristol arrived per ship Claudine in 1829 received 14 yrs tried on 27/4/1829. ToL no 36/297 dated 8/3/1836. Was at Windsor
