Family connections for Mary (Phillips) are: PHILLIPS Mary (Phillips) was born about 1763. She was tried at Dublin city Ireland, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 16 2 1813 after a voyage of 9months on ARCHDUKE CHARLES. She married Richard (Hicks his second marriage) of Sydney on 26 4 1819 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. [Noted Mary (Phillips) may be the mother of James (Hicks) who was born about 1822 at Pitt Town & baptised on 6 6 1822 at St Marys RC Sydney-recorded above] [Some details taken from this Website] Richard (Hicks) was born about 1785. He was tried for stealing tanned hides of Thomas (Hackett) & Thomas (Fry) of Wrotham at Kent General Quarter Sessions of Peace on 3 10 1797, sentenced to 7years on 13 10 1797, held at Maidstone Gaol from 22 10 1797 & arrived in NSW as a convict on 14 12 1801 after a voyage of 6months on Fleet ship CANADA (or the accompanying MINORCA-noted on this Website). He had a first relationship with Margaret (Howe her first relationship). He was Free by Servitude by 1810. He was living in Sydney in 1819. He is recorded in 1822 as Free by Servitude constable at Liverpool with daughter Ann. He is recorded in 1825 as landholder at Liverpool with 3children. He died in 1852 age67 father of 6children.
