John Pugh was 20 years old on arrival in VDL and his occupation was a ‘Tanner”.

Offence Theft of sheep, the sheepskin sold by prisoner to a Wrexham tanner. Prosecutor had been to see all the skinners in Wrexham to give notice of his loss.

Prosecutor Robert Barratt, Wrexham, farmer
Plea Not guilty.
Verdict Guilty.
Punishment Death recorded.

John had dark hazel eyes, light brown hair, was 5’4 1/2” tall, single, tattoos.

16/1/1835: Colonial Conviction - sentence extended 2 years.
