Trial Record: Accused John Pugh; Parish: Wrexham (~); County: Denbigh; Status: Labourer (Amendments) Offence Theft of sheep, the sheepskin sold by prisoner to a Wrexham tanner. Prosecutor had been to see all the skinners in Wrexham to give notice of his loss. Location and date Parish: Wrexham; County: Denbigh; Date: 23 January 1830 Prosecutor Robert Barratt, Wrexham, farmer Plea Not guilty. Verdict Guilty. Punishment Death recorded. John had dark hazel eyes, light brown hair, was 5'4 1/2" tall, single, tattoos. 1830-33: Assigned to Mr Cogle 16/1/1835: Colonial Conviction - sentence extended 2 years. 1835: Assigned to Mr Cogle. 1840: Was working as a shepherd. 1/7/1842: TOL 1846: Free Certificate. 4/2/1843: Married Elizabeth Webb (born in colony) and they had 14 children. 9/12/1877: John died at Westbury, Tasmania. 28/4/1874: Elizabeth died, she was born 6/1/1828.
