Catherine Rafter, a Tipperary woman, for stealing 14th April, thread-case, with money in it, from Anastatia Neville, New-street, with whom she lodged, and lay for a short time, while waiting to sail in the Nora Creina for Bristol. Mr George Wright, High Constable, laid an embargo on her sailing, arresting her in the very nick of time, and taking her to the Mayor's Office, where the identical thread case was found upon her, with part of the money. The passage money was returned to the packet office. Guilty —seven years’ transportation. Waterford Mail, 8 Aug 1827.
