1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

**Originally entered on the ship "Lady Harewood" VDL 1829 ... but actually arrived on the "Waterloo" 1829 to NSW. The Suffolk Chronicle; or Weekly General Advertiser & County Express Suffolk, England 1 Nov 1828: Charles Raven removed from the County Gaol, to the York Hulk. 14/3/1836: TOL Penrith 15/10/1838: TOL cancelled for drunkenness and disorderly conduct. 1/4/1839: TOL - Allowed to remain in the District of Invermein. 19/7/1843: COF - described as: born 1797, 5'6" tall, dark sallow complexion, brown to grey hair, dark grey eyes, bald on top of head, ???? much crooked, (no crime listed). 3/5/1845 Maitland Mercury, NSW: ROBBERY OF ORDERS.—On the 7th of December last a man named Charles Raven, a servant to Mr. W. Forsyth, of Cliffdale, near Scone, received from his master an order on W. Walker and Co., of Sydney, for £5 10s., and also another order for £2 10s., on the same firm, from a fellow servant of his. He then came down to the Green Hills as watchman to some of his master's drays which came down with wool to the steamer. Having put their load on board the steamer, the drays camped in a paddock, and as Raven had been up watching for two nights, no sooner had they stopped that he laid down and went to sleep. A man named Thomas Hutchinson, who had been a fellow servant with him, was there at the time, and he had told him of his having the two orders, and had asked him where it was possible to get them cashed. He slept for about an hour, and when he awoke both his orders, as well as Tom Hutchinson, were gone. The orders were afterwards passed to Mr. L. W. Levy, of West Maitland, by a woman named Mary Hutchinson, who gave him the £5 10s. order, whilst a young man, in her company, gave him the £2 10s. order; they were sent to Sydney, but payment had been stopped. Information having been given to the police, the woman Hutchinson was apprehended, and now only awaits the company of her husband to be committed for trial. 12/7/1845: The prisoner was found guilty, and sentenced to six months imprisonment with hard labour in Parramatta Factory. 12/9/1845: Charles Raven died, aged 47 at Scone, NSW - NSW BDM. 13/9/1845: Scone Source: Registers of Coroners' Inquests and Magisterial Inquiries (Ancestry) Details: Accidentally killed 25/2/1846 Sydney Morning Herald: INTESTATE ESTATES. Charles Raven, late of Scone ; moneys received, £33 ; payments made, £8 12s. ; moneys in the hands of the Master, £24 8s 3d. ; date of order to collect, 8th October, 1845.
