Can D Wong please tell me where, or what area Robert Kilty was last known to be living in 1855 and do you know why it was 4 years before he arrived in Western Australia?

Awaiting receipt of the High Court Trial papers from Edinburgh, I will then add additional information after reading these. Notice in the Ayrshire Advertiser. Ayr High Court Reporter wrote: "Aggravated Assault" Lord Justice Clark passed sentence of 10 years transportation for the crime of "Alleged Assault" upon Margaret Warwick of The Mull of Galloway. There is an Aboriginal family with the surname Kiltie, I am trying to find out more information on why this family have this surname?. In Scotland the original spelling was Kilty but sometimes changed to Kelty, present day the spelling is now Kiltie

Robert Kilty was 16 years old, according to the National Archives of Scotland, when convicted of "Rape or assault with the intent to ravish on 10/10/1849. Robert confessed. Robert was the son of William Kilty of Mull Kirkmaiden, Wigtown. Robert was 20 years old on arrival in WA, listed as a mason, single, no children, 5'7 1/2" tall, brown hair, hazel eyes, dark complexion, stout build, small scar over right eyebrow. 1/5/1853: TOL 27/1/1855: COF Found no other references to Robert after 1855. Nothing on the WA BDM.
