John Rofe is my g.g.grandfather (DOB 1806). I believe that the marriages to Byrne and Smith involved a John Rolfe (Rofe) and not my gg.grandfather as John Rolfe was born in 1816 and was a free man when he married Mary Byrne in 1844.
My gg.grandfather did not receive his pardon until 1845.

Death Certificate lists Margaret Connell as his wife and Charles (his son) is informant. He had been living in Victoria for approx 27 years and in NSW for only 1 month where his son Charles was employed.
