Alfred Ruff stole clothes and blankets from Sarah Hall - Ruff was her nephew. 1842: TOL - Maitland. 20/5/1846: Ruff was working for Peter Groughan at Hexham - on the land. 16/5/1856: On trial for Feloniously stabbing John Grimes at Windermere on the 16/2/1856 - Verdict; not guilty; discharged. 14/11/1856: Alfred Ruff charged with having maliciously cut and woulded William Palmer of Muswellbrook by striking him on the head with an axe -Veridct; guilty; sentenced to 18 months in prison with hard labour at the Parramatta Goal. 8//6/1860: Charges with Tresspassing on land to shoot wild ducks, fin ed 5 pounds and 20shillings. 1887: Died at West Maitland, aged 72. No Marriage of children found.
