In the colony, 28 April 1818, Thomas married Sarah Wilkinson (nèe Coleman) (Convict, 1798, Britannia). Sarah was the widow of George Wilkinson a sailor who had also arrived in the colony in 1798 on the "Britannia". He and Sarah had 4 children. George had died in 1815.
