Liverpool Asylum for the Infirm and Destitute - 20 April 1859 Edward Shadwick. Aged 76 years old [Born abt. 1783] Ship; Greyhound. Free by servitude. DIED




Edward Shadwick was one of seven male convicts snet from India to Australia in 1819, by the Brig "Greyhound", under the command of Captain Ritchie. The Greyhound returned to Hobart from Calcutta on the 16th March 1819. Of the convicts, two were runaways from Sydney, (John Daniels and John Watson) and the other 5 were convicted in India, (Michael Quigley, Edward Shadwick, Eli Wotton, James Hartley and John Symes). Per "Greyhound", 1819 1819 May 26 - On list of convicts arrived per "Greyhound" from India (Reel 6006; 4/3500 p.128) 1824 Dec 31 - Of Terry's clearing party. On return of fines & punishments inflicted by the Bench of Evan (Reel 6023; 4/6671 p.79) Edward Shadwick was sent to Moreton Bay Penal establishment. Moreton Bay Records Edw. Shadwick, Brig Greyhound 1819, Madras, 6 Jul 1818 – life. Trade: Cotton manufr. and soldier. Col Sentence: Penrith Gen Sess. 31 Mar 1829. for Absconding from his gang and being a notorious character, three years. To Sydney, 1 Sep 1832. Description: Native of Salford, age 43, 5 ft 3 ¾ high, fair comp. Brown hair grey eyes, E. religion. Ticket of Leave during last week: County of Bathurst, Bathurst.
