Family connections for Thomas (Shaw) are: SHAW Thomas (Shaw) was born about 1798 & became a stonemason. He was tried at Cumberland Assizes Cumberlandshire, sentenced to 14years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 14 9 1818 after a voyage of 5.5months on ISABELLA. He seems to have had a wife Mary (Shaw) in 1822 who worked for Mr J (Oxley) at Emu Plains in 1822. He was Free by Servitude by 1822 & worked for Mr J (Oxley) at Emu Plains in 1822-25.>>> [Some details taken from this Website] Mary (???/Shaw) may have been the person born in 1791 who was tried for possessing forged notes at probably Old Bailey on 1 4 1818, sentenced to 14years, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW on 7 9 1818 after a voyage of 4months on MARIA. Did she work for Mr J (Oxley) at Emu Plains in 1822?. She married James (Wells) on 24 3 1823 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She died in 1827 age about36. (Noted a Mary (Wells from MARY ANN) is recorded as dying on 30 8 1827 age32 at Princess St Sydney & buried, as (Wells), at St James CofE Sydney. She had a second relationship with Charles (Meyrick) her second? relationship & produced a child. She was Free by Servitude by 1822. She is recorded in musters 1811-1825 as Free by Servitude wife of Thomas (Shaw) at Bringelly. She married Thomas (Shaw) stonemason on 22 12 1828 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. She produced maybe at least 6children in her lifetime.
