James Smith was convicted at Lancaster on 16/10/1833 for stealing horse hair. 14 yr sentence. Gaol Report: 3rd conviction. bad character Hulk Report: Orderly Ship Surgeon's Report: Orderly Single man; grey eyes; reddish hair; 21yrs of age; Native Place - Kellott. Van Diemens Land: 18/11/1834: Labourer at Bonded Store - pilfering tobacco from the Bonded Store - imprisonemnt and hard labour for 12mths - Bridgwater Chain Gang. Died in H.M. Colonial Hospital 25/03/1836. Buried 02/04/1836.
