1813 - "Committed to the County Gaol...Martha Smith and Elizabeth Redding, charged with stealing in the parish of Knowle, one fat sheep, the property of Joseph Lindop; - and Matthew Redding, charged with receiving part of the said sheep, knowing it to be stolen..." The Colonial Secretary replied that both women had terms of 14 years, having been tried at Warwick on the 29th March 1813 & so still entitled (with "their children") to be on the "Government Victualling List".
