Place of origin: Clerkenwell, Middlesex 1850 - Status; Married. Wife; Caroline Angelia. thinks that she is dead but not certain 1867 - ABSCONDED; From the House of Correction, Hobart Town on the 8th instant whilst undergoing a sentence of 2 years for larceny. Tried Hobart S.S. Hobart Town. 1 July 1867. William Alger Spencer, F.S. per Maria Somes 2. 40 years old [looks older] a shoemaker. His wife is supposed to be living in Hobart Town. 1864 - Marriage. 9 May 1864. Parish Church Launceston Spouse: Hogg, Frances 1874 - Launceston Invalid Depot: Name; William Alger. Ship to Colony; Maria Somes POL709-1-11 page 169 (24 Sep 1874 to 12 Oct 1874) Admitted from the District of Launceston. Discharged at own request able to work
