From his Fremantle jail record: STABLE, John Wickey; inmate #4618, arrived 1 Jan 1858 per Nile Alias: MCKAY Date of Birth: 1806 Marital Status: Married 6 children Occupation: Solicitor Literacy: Literate Sentence Place: Liverpool, Lancashire, England Crime: Forgery Sentence Period: 15 years Ticket of Leave Date: 9 Feb 1859 Conditional Pardon Date: 24 Nov 1859 (https://fremantleprison.com.au/). Mother's name was Margaret Wickey, she married his father Lorenzo on 19th January 1799 at St Georges, Hanover Square, London. This Stable family tree joins up with Kate Middleton's tree, the earliest common ancestor being Sarah Stable, born 24 October 1778 at Westminster, she is the paternal first cousin of John Wickey Stable.




Apparentley fled to Prussia from where he was extradited. John was 5'10" tall, dark brown hair, grey eyes, dark complexion, middling stout, blue spot on left arm. 9/2/1859: TOL 24/11/1859: CP December 1828: Married Louisa Bassett Jessett (b 1806). They had 6 children. At least 4 of John's children came to Australia. His son, also John Wickey Stable died in QLD 1870, also Frederick Augustus in 1870, QLD. 7/2/1866: Sydney Morning Herald: On the 28th January, at the residence of his son, Boulton terrace,Toowoomba, Queensland, JOHN WICKEY STABLE, Esq., late of Balmain, in the 67th year of his age.
