William Stanley was transported on the Indefatigable And Minstrel, departing 9th May 1812 and arriving 19th Oct 1812 with 331 passengers.
The Indefatigable was built at Whitby, England. She was square-rigged three masted ship of 549 tons and had three decks; a length of 127 ft. and a beam of 31ft. 8ins. The Indefatigable sailed from England on 4th June 1812 in company with the Minstrel. The Indefatigable came direct to Hobart, VDL arriving there on 19 October 1812. One prisoner died on the voyage out. Having disembarked the prisoners in Hobart, the Indefatigable arrived in Port Jackson on 6 December 1812, departing there bound for England in January 1813. The Indefatigable returned to Australia with convicts in 1815 (see separate listing).

Family connections for William (Stanley) are: STANLEY William (Stanley) was born on 8 8 1796. He was tried for hose theft at Southampton Assizes Hampshire on 23 7 1811, sentenced to Life & arrived in Van Diemens Land (Tasmania) as a convict on 19 10 1812 after a voyage of 5.5months on INDEFATIGIBLE travelling with MINSTREL. He was issued his Conditional Pardon about January 1818 & married Sarah (Ryan) on 20 4 1818 at St Davids CofE Hobart. He died on 18 7 1887 age90 at Bendigo. [Some details taken from this Website] Sarah (Ryan) was born on 1 11 1800. She was recorded in 1800 & 1802 with her mother & at Hawkesbury in 1806 with her mother. In 1809 part of 40acres at Nelson was held in trust for her by her father in law. It may be she who is recorded with Catherine (Frazier/er) in 1811 & 1814 in Sydney. He married Mary Ann (King) on 21 7 1852. He died on 19 5 1910 age about84 at Echuca. 4.Jane (Stanley) was born in 1826. 5.Sarah Eliza (Stanley) was born in 1828. 6.Charlotte Amelia (Stanley) was born in 1831. 7.Louisa Henrietta (Stanley) was born in 1834. 8.Mary Ann (Stanley) was born in 18xx. 9.William (Stanley) was born in 18xx. 10.Daniel Dangerfield (Stanley) was born in 1847. William Stanley died in Bendigo.His wife Sarah Ryan was born in Sydney 1/11/1800. She died on 3/6/1854 in Piccaninny Gully, Bendigo.They had a son,John Stanley born 12/10/1823 in Hobarton V.D.L. He married Mary Ann King on 21/7/1852. John Stanley died 19/5/1910 in Echuca.
