PETWORTH QUARTER SESSIONS. Benjamin Simmons, the younger, and Henry Staples, found guilty of stealing at Repton, quantity of lead and two well ropes.— Seven years transportation. Brighton Gazette, 13 April 1826.




Henry Staples was listed as a runaway convict in the New South Wales Government Gazette, 11th April 1832 Staples Henry, No. 27-1335, Marquis Hastings, 20, Umbrella Maker, Southampton 5 feet 0¾, hazle (sic) eyes, brown hair, sallow comp. from Hyde Park Barrack. A notorious runaway.
