James Sullivan was 24 years old on arrival. 2 brothers, Denis and Owen, all convicted of the same crime were also on the same ship. James was unable to read or write, 5'3 3/4" tall, brown hair, grey eyes, sallow and freckled complexion, diagonal scar under right eye, 2 scars centre of forehead. 1843: TOL Brisbane Waters. 8/8/1845: Married Bridget Whelan (cannot find ship). Bridget was a convict and arrived in 1840 and she had 1 daughter Maria/Mary born 16/3/1844 with Redmond Burke, who may have been a bounty immigrant and he died 11.2.1845. No marriage found for Redmond and Bridget. James and Bridget had 2 more daughters born in Sydney and then on 30/10/1849 they all left Sydney for San Francisco and arrived early 1850. By September 1850 James had established a firm "Sullivan & Secor, Coopers, with Theodore Secor. James and Bridget lived at 535 Mission Street and had 5 more children. Bridget died in 1891. 17/12/1880: James died in San Francisco.
