Cork Assizes. The following have been convicted since our last, in the County Court : ... Margaret Sullivan, for stealing wearing apparel from Thomas Farrell, to be transported for seven years;.. Limerick Chronicle, 11 April 1827. Margaret Sullivan was charged with stealing various articles of wearing apparel, the property of Thomas Farrell on the 1st November, at Dundee. The prisoner came to intreat a night's lodging from the prosecutor—as soon as the prosecutor and his wife went out their daily work the next morning, the prisoner seized the opportunity of stealing the articles.— Guilty. Seven years transportation . Cork Constitution, 10 April 1827.

Family connections for Margaret Mary (Sullivan) are: FOLEY Margaret Mary (Sullivan) daughter Timothy (Sullivan) & Catherine (???) was born about 1807 in Kerry co. Ireland & became a spinner & washerwoman. She was tried for stealing clothes at Cork City, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 12 1 1828 after a voyage of 5months on ELIZABETH & in Bathurst in 1834 from Appin. She was 5'2" rudy freckled complexion blue spots on back of hands scar over left side of nose. She married Lau/wrence Thomas (Foley) with permission on 12 6 1828 at St Peters CofE Campbelltown. She received her Certificate of Freedom no.34/0459 on 25 4 1834. She died on 18/9 3 1888 age about80 at O'Connell & was buried at O'Connell Plains. [Some details taken from this Website] Lau/wrence Thomas (Foley) son of ??? (Foley) & Bridget (???) was born in 1798/1801 in Sligo co. Ireland & became a reaper. He was tried in 1822 for possession of a stolen cow at Sligo co. Ireland, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict in 9 9 1823 after a voyage of 4months on EARL ST VINCENT; he was 5'3.25" fresh complexion brown hair dark grey eyes. He received his Certificate of Freedom & in 1824 was employed by Wm (Browne) at Bathurst.On 11 1 1828 he was convicted for running away & for robbery, sentenced to 3years in a penal settlement. He returned to Sydney on 4 2 1832. He was a farmer at Wisemans Creek for 50years. He lived at Durham St & died on 18 11 1880 age about79 at Wisemans Creek & was buried at RC O'Connell.
