At Northampton assizes, George King, for horse stealing, George Whitton, for burglary, Thos. Day, for larceny above 40s. house, Francis and John Swailes, for sheep stealing, John Billingham, for highway robbery, and Bailey Smith and Robert Cunningham, for house breaking, severally received sentence of death, but were all reprieved before the Judge left the town.
