James Techener was transported on the Indefatigable And Minstrel, departing 9th May 1812 and arriving 19th Oct 1812 with 331 passengers.

The Indefatigable was built at Whitby, England. She was square-rigged three masted ship of 549 tons and had three decks; a length of 127 ft. and a beam of 31ft. 8ins. The Indefatigable sailed from England on 4th June 1812 in company with the Minstrel. The Indefatigable came direct to Hobart, VDL arriving there on 19 October 1812. One prisoner died on the voyage out. Having disembarked the prisoners in Hobart, the Indefatigable arrived in Port Jackson on 6 December 1812, departing there bound for England in January 1813. The Indefatigable returned to Australia with convicts in 1815 (see separate listing).

Two inquests were held at Brighton last week, before F. Roper, esq., on the bodies of James Tickner and James Grabbit, who died suddenly by the visitation of God. Hobart Town Courier, 18 Oct 1833.

NOTICE is hereby given to the PROPRIETORS of the under-mentioned GRANTS of LAND, that the same are ready for Delivery at this Office; and it is requested that those Individuals entitled to receive them will lose no Time in making personal or written Application, as all Deeds remaining uncalled for, after the Expiration of three Weeks from this Date, will be returned to Head Quarters by the earliest Opportunity. ESSEX ASSIZE. At these Assizes, which commenced on Thursday … at Chelmsford, before Lord Ellenborough and Macdonald, Thos. Digby, for stealing a black …, the property of Mr. W. Bacon, of Ashdon ; and Teehener, for stealing a grey mare, the property of Morris, of Great Mord, were capitally convicted, sentence of Death.— British Mercury, or Wednesday Evening Post, 14 Aug 1811. ASSIZES. At Assizes, Thos. Digby, and James Tecliener, for horse-stealing, received sentence of death. Bath Chronicle, 15 Aug 1811. Thomas Digby and James Tecblener, who received sentence of death, were reprieved by Chief Baron Macdonald before he left the town . Ipswich Journal, 17 Aug 1811.
