Hopton Linton, free, age 78, and Mary Thorpe, convict, Ship, Francis Chrio, age 30 years, were married by Banns 7 October 1816, Hobart Town district. Note: This man was born June 20 the same year as his Majesty K.G. 3rd. Both Mary and Linton signed their mark X. Witnesses R. Littlejohn, and David W. Bush.

Hopton Linton arrived at Hobart Town 29 Nov 1807, departing from Norfolk Island per ship Lady Nelson.
