Convict Notes

Charged with house-breaking and found guilty of the lesser offence of stealing only. (House door was latched, no conclusive evidence of a forced entry but accused was caught two miles away with clothing taken.) One of the witnesses says he had returned from transportation a few months earlier but this doesn't go further and the sentence is milder than the string of death sentences handed down for cases earlier in the session.
