Joseph Walker was convicted at Glamorgan on 04/07/1837 for burlary. Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Moffatt' arriving 01/04/1838. Ship Surgeon's report: Quiet and orderly. To be employed in Public Works by order of the Secretary of State. Married, wife Ann at native place. Shoemaker and farm labourer. B. 1812.Madley, Hereford. Aged 25yrs. 5'6".
