Please disregard all contributions above - they were for Samuel Whiting on the Georgiana 1833. Samuel Whiting was listed as 42 years old on arrival in VDL. Place of Birth: Gloucester. Transported for 'Petty Larceny' - stealing 9 handkerchiefs. Samuel was 5'7¾" tall, reddish brown hair, blue eyes, married - wife & 2 ch. at 2 Snows Rents Westminster F at N.P. Gloucester, Woman EW left arm an Idiot. 31/7/1824: Lunatic Prisoner, departed Hobart bound to Port Jackson. Ship: Phoenix. Listed as Whiteing. Colonial Secretary Index: WHITING, Samuel 1824 Aug 10: Lunatic to be forwarded to the Resident Magistrate, Parramatta, for despatch to the Castle Hill Asylum (Reel 6013; 4/3512 pp.171-2) No date of death found.
