The Windham and General Hewett left England the 24th of August, in convoy with the Wansted, Capt. Moore, who sailed from hence last Thursday for Batavia; the General Hewett arrived at Rio the 17th of November, and sailed again the 2d of December. Together with the military detachments, she received on board for this Settlement 300 male prisoners, of whom we are sorry to report the death of 35, whose names we shall endeavour to procure an account of, and publish in the next Gazette, for the information of their friends and families in Great Britain. The ten following capital convicts upon whom sentence was passed, at Gloucester late Assizes, have received his Majesty’s pardon, condition being transported beyond the seas, viz T. Bush, T. Willmott, J. Willis, J. Harvey, Hannah Cook, R. Simmons, and R. Milledge, for their natural lives and J. Cole, for seven years. Public Ledger, 31 May 1813.

Was convicted along with his friend Timothy Bush At Gloucester Assizes for stealing a Horse. Death penalty commuted to Life. Both were transported together on General Hewitt.

Thomas was the son of Giles Wilmott and Betty Britton. Thomas was born in 1782 in Gloucester, England, was baptised on September 19, 1802 in St. Mary's Churchyard, Bitton, Gloucester. Thomas was assigned to John Waite. 1822: TOL 29/12/1828: Married Maria Robinson (Born in the Colony 1799-1861) at Narellan, NSW. 18/10/1831: Recommended for a CP 6/4/1833: CP Became licensee of the Kentish Arms, acquired several parcels of land, one he named Golden Valley. 6/9/1846: Thomas died aged 63.

Thomas was from Hanham, Gloucestershire, England. He First Married Dinah or Dianna Britton 1/11/1807 in Bristol, England. He had at least 2 children that I know of may be more. His family stayed in England.
