Worcestershire Epiphany Sessions. Winwood, Henry, 17, labourer, and Winwood, Levy, his brother, aged only 9 years, who was also described as a “ labourer,” were with stealing, on the 27th October last, a bag containing cheese, bacon, and sugar, and a handkerchief, the property of William Cook, of Rock—guilty, with a recommendation of the younger one to mercy. Henry Winwood, transportation for seven years: Levy Winwood, three months’ imprisonment, and to be once whipped. Worcestershire Chronicle 13 Jan 1841.




Levi Winwood, a Bewdley Forester, well known to the police, has been committed to Hereford gaol for trial, charged with burglary and robbery in the premises of Mr. Hemming, shoemaker and shopkeeper, of Collington, mentioned in our last. He was apprehended by P.C. Pennington, near Bewdley, who found a pair of the stolen shoes on his feet, and and near where he captured him, a shoe knife, which Mr. Hemming also identified as his property. About twelve month since, Winwood underwent imprisonment in Hereford gaol for a robbery the same parish, and several of his family have been transported. Worcestershire Chronicle, 29 Sep 1847. Removal of Convicts.—John Davies, and Levi Winwood, sentenced to transportation at the last October Sessions for this county, were removed on Tuesday last to Millbank.
