SATURDAY, MAY 14, 1831 Arrived on Monday the 9th. instant the convict ship America, Robert Donald, Esq. Commander, from London 6th. January, with, 186 females. Passengers, Mr. Capon, Chief Constable of the Island, Mr. and Mrs. Davies, Surgeon and Superintendent, Dr. Thomson, R. N.; brings also some Commissariat stores. Summer Assizes. Joseph Hook, aged 21, Henry Wyse, aged 21, and John Green, aged 21, stood indicted for having, on the 24th of May last, at the county gaol of Aylesbury, stolen a part of a flitch of bacon, the property of Mr James Sheriff.  London Evening Standard, 21 July 1828. Fourteen years Transportation—Joseph Hook, Henry Wise, and John Green, all aged 21, for stealing a flitch of bacon, the property of Jas. Sheriff. Northampton Mercury 26 July 1828.
