Certificate of Freedom obtained during the last week, Southworth - John Woods. The Monitor, (Sydney), 30 April 1828.




John Woods was a native of St Johns Newfoundland, Canada. He was a fisherman salter. He was aged 40 when convicted at Limerick City in 1821, and sentenced to be transported for 7 years. The NSW 1828 census shows him in household of settler, John Liscombe , aged 30, a police clerk and his wife and child at Bathurst Settlement. John Woods, age 40, F.S., (Southworth, 1822, 7 yrs)shepherd, protestant. There were several other persons living in the same household.
