I believe that Alexander Wright was arrested in company with my ancestor Benjamin Molloy under the alias of James Connolly. The arrest details appear in the Dublin Morning Register on the 16th May 1837. The occupation of Alexander Wright and James Connolly are the same, they are arrested on the same day and committed the same crime - Stealing leather.




Alexander Wright was listed as 15 years old on arrival. Native Place: Dublin City. Occupation: Shoemaker's apprentice 3½ years. Transported for 'Stealing leather'. Alexander could read, was RC, single, 5'0" tall, dark sallow complexion, brown hair and eyes, two diagonal scars on centre of forehead, mark of a boil left side of neck, cross, AW outside upper left arm. 19/1/1844: TOL, Braidwood. 27/6/1846: COF - Now 5'7½" tall.
