Footnote 2: NEWSPAPER COVERAGE OF THE TRIAL: From the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald, 22 April, 1854, p4: ARTHUR COLLINS and HENRY WRIGHT charged with assault, in so far as, on the 19th December,last, on the road from Kilmarnock to Glasgow, they assaulted James Ramsay, farmer, at Cauldstanes, Fenwick, to the effusion of blood.
