She was an employee of her victim when tried for theft, on 17 8 1788, of bedlinen etc of John (Kirk) at Old Bailey on 10 9 1788 (quick justice), sentenced to 7years, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 3 1 1790 after a voyage of 12months on LADY JULIANA: a ship with 228females who easily entertained the whole crew & also sailors at Teneriffe stopover. She was sent to Norfolk Island, arriving on 7 8 1790. He arrived in NSW as a soldier in 1793, so therefore perhaps on SUGAR CANE. He must have spent some time on Norfolk Island. He was discharged on 24 11 1794. He, as (McKenny), was granted 30acres at Entrance to Flats/Eastern Farms district in 1800. He is recorded in 1800-02 muster. & a Thomas (McKenna free SUGAR CANE) married Johanna (Whitfield/Johnston her second marriage) emancipist on 5 3 1810 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. Johanna (Whitfield) arrived in NSW as a convict on 9 7 1791 after a voyage of 6.5months on Fleet ship MARY ANN. She married firstly Edward (Johnson) on 27 6 1792 at St Johns CofE Parramatta & produced 4children. She was sent to Norfolk Island. Johanna (Whitfield) does not have an entry on this Website as yet-added by me. Edward (Johnson) was born about 1757. He was tried at Dorchester Assizes Dorsetshire on 16 3 1786 & arrived in NSW as a convict on 22 1 1788 after a journey of 8.5months on First Fleet ship CHARLOTTE. He was sent to Norfolk Island arriving in September 1791. She apparantly had a relationship with William (Redfein). She was recorded as free on stores in February 1805 on Norfolk Island. She left Norfolk Island with her husband as part of the first evacuation (for which volunteers apparantly had been called with appropriate compensation offerred & for which he may have tried to decline as some successful farmers were asked to stay) on 15 5 1808 on ESTRAMINA, arriving at Derwent Tasmania on 5 6 1808-the only married couple on this voyage. ..William (Reddin//Rudrein/Refrain/Ruffian) was tried for stealing a mare at Hereford Assizes Herefordshire on 6 8 1800, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 14 8 1802 after a voyage of 7.5months on PRSEUS. He arrived on Norfolk Island in 1801. He left Norfolk Island with his wife (nof sign of a marriage & defacto at birth of child) & a servant as part of the first evacuation on 15 5 1808 on ESTRAMINA, arriving at Derwent Tasmania on 5 6 1808-the only married couple on this voyage.He was recorded in 1808, as (Refnn), at Parramatta, in 1811 as (Refean), & in 1814, as (Refain), on stores in gaol. On 23 11 1814 he was sent to Newcastle-a penal settlement-on ETRAMINA & returned to Sydney in November? 1815 on HMS LADY NELSON. On 12 6 1822 he was convicted of horse stealing at Parramatta & ordered to serve the rest of his sentence at Port Macquarie-penal settlement-from where he was given leave about June 1823, returning to Sydney. He was tried for highway robbery, on 14 6 1812, & stealing a watch etc of Richard (Robbins) at probably Old Bailey on 1 7 1812 (quick justice, sentenced to Life, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict 0n 9 10 1813 after a voyage of 5months on EARL SPENCER; he was 5'1.25" fair pale complexion brown hair hazel eyes. In 1822 he was to be sent to Hobart Tasmania on ELIZABETH HENRIETTA. He died about 1826 age about33 & was buried on 18 12 1826 at St Johns Launceston. .. B.Joseph (Saunders) was born about 1761. He was tried at Nottingham Assizes, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 20 12 1808 after a voyage of 6months on ADMIRAL GAMBIER. He was an emancipist when he died in 1836 age75 & was buried on 4 2 1836 at St Matthews CofE Windsor. WHITFIELD George (Whitfield) married Sarah (Jones) in England. He enlisted in NSW Corps in UK as a private on 20 6 1789. He arrived in NSW as a soldier with his wife on 26 6 1790 on second Fleet (Third Fleet shown in Smees records). In 1794 he was granted 25acres at Hunters Hill & in 1796 25acres at Entrance of Flats & 30acres at Snails Bay. In 1798 he was detached to (Foveaux)s company. He was raised to Corporal on 26 6 1789. In 1801 he served on Norfolk Island, where he died on 18 11 1801 & was buried there. Sarah (Jones) arrived in NSW with her husband on 26 6 1790 on second Fleet (Third Fleet shown in Smees records). She is recorded, as (Whitfield), free on stores in Fenruary 1805 on Norfolk Island. She died on 22 4 1808 on Norfolk Island. George (Whitfield) & Sarah (Jones) produced 3children: 1.Elizabeth (Whitfield) was born on 13 4 1794 & baptised on 27 4 1794 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She died on 28 4 1796 age2! & was buried at St Phillips CofE Sydney. 2.George (Whitfield) was born on 5 9 1799 & baptised on 17 11 1799 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. Smees records & Ref:'People...' show that he died on 29 11 1801 age2 on Norfolk Island-however, Smees burial records show this to be the death date of his father. He is recorded as child >2yrs on stores in Fenruary 1805 on Norfolk Island. Noted a George (Whitfield) mariner died in 1833 age35 & was buried on 30 9 1833 at St Phillips CofE Sydney/ 3.James (Whitfield) was born on Norfolk Island. He is recorded as child on stores in Fenruary 1805 on Norfolk Island. 4.Sarah (Whitfield) was born 12/17 1 1801 & baptised on 28 12 1801 on Norfolk Island.
