Duncan Christie was transported on the Marion, departing 30th Oct 1851 and arriving 30th Jan 1852 with 281 passengers.
Built 1834 at Calcutta. Wood ship of 684 Tons. The 1847/48 voyage sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) BUT also went on to Port Phillip Bay, Victoria where 300 exiles disembarked. (The newspaper source says they were from Millbank, Pentonville & Parkhurst prisons.)

Dates 1850 Accused Elizabeth Wilson, Age: 21, servant, Address: Jeffrey's Close, Glasgow, Origin: Native of Glasgow. Michael Docherty, alias Shields, Age: 17, pipeworks worker, Address: Bridgegate Street, Glasgow, Origin: Native of Glasgow Duncan Christie, Age: 17, Address: Paisley, Renfrewshire, Origin: Native of Paisley. Michael Docherty/Shields - no ship found. Elizabeth Wilson arrived VDL per 'Aurora 1851'. Convict No. 1085 Duncan Christie was 20 years old on arrival in WA. He was single, 5/5 1/2" tall, dark brown hair and eyes, round face, dark complexion, stout, D.E. on left arm. 15/6/1853: TOL Duncan worked as a Stonemason in York and retired to Fremantle. 1858: Married Mary Ann Jones, at Toodyay WA., they resided at York, WA., and had 10 children. 20/1/1919: Duncan died at Perth, WA. 23/1/1919 The Daily News, Perth: (Part only) OBITUARY THE FUNERAL OF A VERY OLD COLONIST. THE LATE MR. DUNCAN CHRISTIE, Mr. Duncan Christie, a very old colonist of this State, passed away on the 20th instant at Martha-street, Beaconsfield, in his 86th year. The deceased; who was born at Paisley, Scotland, arrived in this State 66 years ago in the ship Mariam. Mr. Christie resided at Toodyay, York, and for the last 12 years lived a retired life at Fremantle. He was well known and highly respected in the above district, and leaves a widow and a grown-up family of five sons, three daughters, and many grand and great-grandchildren. The funeral took place on Wednesday, the 22nd instant, in the Church of England portion of the Fremantle Cemetery, and was attended by many old identities. Mary Ann was born in 1842 Greenwich, Kent, Eng., and died 26/11/1923 at Beaconsfield, WA.
Duncan Christie married Toodyay 1858 to Mary Ann Jones eldest daughter of John Jones, Royal Marine and Toodyay Goaler, and Ann Shorter. John, his wife and daughters Mary Ann, Jane (Moore) and Agnes immigrated from Greenwich per 'Pyrenees' 1851 with John as a Pensioner Guard.
Worked as a stone mason in the York area. Moved to Fremantle and built a timber cottage in Beaconsfield in 1906. The house still stands today. reference to him can be found in Freo library archives.
