Departed Portsmouth, England on 29 July 1789, via Cape of Good Hope for Port Jackson, New South Wales, Australia on 3 June 1790. 1790 voyage carried 226 female passengers (convicts)- 5 of whom died on the trip. 6 children also on board. Significant because it was the first ship to bring all female women to the Colony.

Family connections for Mary (Cottle) are: COTTLE Mary (Cottle) was born about 1749/53. She was tried for stealing handkerchiefs at Somerset Assizes in 1787, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW convict on 3 6 1790 after a voyage of 12months on Fleet ship LADY JULIANA-a ship with 228females who easily entertained the whole crew & also sailors at Teneriffe stopover. She was sent to Norfolk Island, arriving on 7 8 1790. She married Noah (Mortimore/mer his first marriage) on 3/13 11 1801-not shown in Smees records-& produced 3children. She left Norfolk Island as part of the first evacuation with her husband & 1child on 14 2 1808 on LADY NELSON to Derwent Tasmania, arriving on 1 3 1808; to New Town/Glenorchy. She died on 24 9 1816 age about63/7 & was buried at St Davids CofE Hobart. [Some details taken from this Website] Noah (Mortimore/mer) was born about 1761. He was tried at Devon Assizes at Exeter on 20 3 1786, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict with his father on 22 1 1788 after a voyage of 7.5months on First Fleet ship CHARLOTTE. He was sent to Norfolk Island, arriving on 6 3 1788. He had 10acres at plot no.32 near Sydney Bay on south coast of NI in 1796. He left Norfolk Island as part of the first evacuation (for which volunteers apparantly had been called) with his father, wife & 1child on 14 2 1808 on LADY NELSON to Derwent Tasmania, arriving on 1 3 1808; he had been recommended by the Governor to be granted 10additional acres. He was granted land at New Town/Glenorchy also. He may have had a second relationship with Frances (Williams her third relationship) & adopted her children He was recorded in 1811 at Hobart Town Tasmania. He was recorded at Hobart Town on 2 10 1818 as off stores. He was Free by Servitude by 1822. He was living with Mary (Falconer) in 1825 in a hut in Jericho district & with James Williams/Ryan)-said to be his adopted father-from Norfolk Island.
