He joined the British Army Leicestershire Foot Regiment on 14 2 1792, deserted prior to imminent battle against French, tried at Savoy Court Martial, sentenced to 7years imprisonment. He was offerred Conditional Pardon on condition he served with NSW Corps & did not return to UK. He married Mary (Wiggins/Wicks) on 9 3 1796 at Shirtland Derbyshire. He enlisted in NSW Corps on 12 7 1796 at Savoy UK as a private. He arrived in NSW as a soldier with his wife on 2 6 1797 after a voyage of 10months on GANGES. He was detached to (Rowley) company in 1798, then (Grose)s cmpany in 1799. In 1808 he transferred to (Kemp)s company. In 1809 he was detached to 2Company until 1810 when he was transferred to 73rd Regiment. On 16 6 1830 he was granted 100acres at Cornwallis. He is recorded as victim of Highway Robbery on Parramatta Rd on 5 1 1831. He died on 14 6 1846 age69.
